Community Speaks

Do you or someone you know have a story about abuse you/they would like to share with the community? If so, please join hands with us in speaking up about and standing up against abuse. We invite South Asians of all backgrounds to share their stories in any form that feels most comfortable to them.

Film Screening

We will be screening two films by and about South Asian women. Boxing Ladies takes a look at the lives of three spirited girls in their dreams to break the stereotypes of Muslim women. Next, Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi is a controversial film that follows the girls of beer bars, interweaving stories of gender, labour, sexuality and popular culture within an increasingly globalized economy.

Gupshup continues with fun and dance.  Enjoy a rousing raas-garba performance by the group "Creative Avataars" and join in the dancing after.  A quick lesson will be taught for your enjoyment!

Launch meeting of Tasveer's first networking group for South Asian women who are entrepreneurs, career professionals, or just want to network with other women to get inspiration from one another and meet other successful women in our community.
